I wrote this little, simple, advent calendar as a PHP wrapper include module last year for my local primary school . The images used are from Advent 0.2 the Advent Calendar written for for PHP-Nuke 5.5+ originally adapted from Rolf-Peter Blümlein's German Language Advent Calendar.

 

I have now rebuilt it as a Joomla component to share with you all !!!

I have built this to run using the server date, as it only uses PHP there are no databases to install.

 

The Calendar will automatically appear on 1st December every year and close again automatically on the 1st January. As with all components you will need to create a Menu link (I usually enable the menu link from November to Jan each year). 

 

All of the images are Christian and are non-language specific.

 

 

 

Click on the Right Hand Menu to open the Demo Calendar, the demo will run all year round as if every month is December (if the date is past the 25th of the month all windows will appear open).

 

Click on the Right Hand Menu to open the Advent Calendar, this is a live version and shows it it closed until 1st December
